“Road to Lohi Tour” to kick off at the Redwood Mountain Faire and make way to Lohi Music Festival!
Summer Festival is getting under way! Poor Man’s Whiskey is starting off the Summer Festival season on June 1st at the Redwood Mountain Faire in Felton, Ca. This is a family friendly fest so come on out for the day! We then will hit the pavement and make our way to the Lohi Music Festival in Denver, Co on June 15th. We will be doing a set of original Nor Cal hoe downs and jams at the festival and a special “Dark Side of the Moonshine” set at the Lohi Late night at Cervantes (with guest fiddler Allie Kral!). Be sure to get your tickets in advance. On the “Road to Lohi” we will be stopping off in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 13th at the State Room for our first “Dark Side” in Salt Lake. On June 14th we will be back at the Fox Theater in Boulder, Co for a special 2nd set of “Old and in the Way”…a tribute to the legendary Bluegrass Jam band with Jerry Garcia, David Grisman, Peter Rowan, Vassar Clements, and John Kahn. After Touring the Dark Side this spring Poor Man’s Whiskey is excited to get back to playing some sets of original Nor Cal Hoe Downs and Jams! On Friday, May 3rd PMW will play San Francisco’s The Chapel…a new venue that’s getting some great reviews as a music hot spot. Get your tickets in advance here. Free Earth Day Celebration with Poor Man’ s Whiskey on April 20th in San Francisco at the Civic Center Plaza!
Poor Man’s Whiskey will be headlining the Earth Day Celebration in San Francisco on April 20th. This will be a free event at the Civic Center Plaza and will have speakers and music throughout the day starting at 10am. PMW plays an hour set at 4:45…so bring your dancing shows. Get details here.
For those heading back up to the North Bay after stop by for PMW’s graphic artist Jennifer Shada’s art exhibit at the CW Gallery in Petaluma. Exhibit starts at 7pm at 620 Petaluma Blvd. North. Poor Man’s Whiskey is rounding out the West Coast Tour on April 11-13 with special Dark Side of the Moonshine performances in Seattle, Portland, and Eugene. Special Guest Allie Kral (recently becoming a Pacific Northwester) of Cornmeal fame will be sitting in as Dorothy and the fiddle chair. Get your Wizard of OZ costumes out and join the festivities! Poor Man’s Whiskey has loaded up their surf boards and are heading down south for a 3 day Southern California Sun and Surf tour! Of course we will be bringing our set of original Nor Cal Hoe Downs and Jams…and not to mention our Dark Side of the Moonshine set to the southern part of the state! We will be at Winston’s in San Diego on Thursday, St. Rocke in Hermosa Beach on Friday, and back where it all began Soho in Santa Barbara on Saturday. See our tour dates for more info. Poor Man’s Whiskey is getting excited to record our first live album in our hometown of Sebastopol at the Hopmonk on March 15th and 16th. We will be playing 3 sets each evening..kicking things off with a more intimate acoustic 1st set followed by 2 sets of our high octane hootenanny. We are pleased to have special guest Allie Kral from Cornmeal filling in on fiddle for the evening! Those who buy advance tickets for both night will receive a copy of the cd when it is released! Spring Dates Announced! Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of “Dark Side of the Moon” with a full “Dark Side” tour and Live CD Recording at the Hopmonk!

Poor Man’s Whiskey announces Spring Tour!
Northern California’s Poor Man’s Whiskey is celebrating the 40th anniversary of Pink Floyd’s landmark album “Dark Side of the Moon” by touring their critically acclaimed show “Dark Side of the Moonshine”..a bluegrass interpretation of Dark Side of the Moon. While PMW has done the show at various times (including Australia’s Byron Bay Blues Festival and sell out at San Francisco’s legendary Fillmore Auditorium), this will be the first time that a complete tour was based around the show. The crowd is invited to participate in the show by coming dressed as their favorite Wizard of Oz Character and join in the festivities. Poor Man’s Whiskey will include a full two sets of music each night (a set of their original crowd pleasing ho-downs and jams followed by a second set of the Dark Side of the Moonhine).
On March 15th and 16th PMW takes a short break from the Dark Side and will set up in their hometown of Sebastopol,Ca at the Hopmonk for two nights of live CD recording. This will be a special 3 set evening of Poor Man’s Whiskey. An intimate all acoustic first set will kick off the evening followed two sets of their “high octane hootenanny”. Tickets are very limited and advance tickets are recommended.
On March 28th PMW will open for Railroad Earth at San Francisco’s Fillmore Auditorium! And on May 3rd PMW returns to San Francisco’s newest hot music venue The Chapel for an evening of original Northern California Bluegrass.
