This was the year I was going to switch over to snowboarding from skiing. I was looking foward to this gig for months. We were playing at Sugar Bowl ski resort for the x-games qualifier. I drove up to Roseville the night before so I could get an early start the next day. I wake up at 6am pumped for the day only to my dismay that it is raining pretty good. You know what they say, raining in Roseville, snowing in Tahoe. Well fresh snow, this could be good.

The drive up took hours and hours. Chains required, which I had none, full out blizzard, but I had to keep pressing on. I got to Sugar Bowl much later than expected, so that cut into my snowboarding time. On top of that it was my turn on rotation to be gig manager, which meant I was responsible for getting the show set up and going. Not that big of deal normally, except there were no mics or mic stands for us. Oops, were we supposed to bring those? On top of that the pa was the house pa and I had all sorts of troubles getting it too work properly. Tony came to the rescue. But by this time it is too late to get any turns in and It was looking pretty cold and miserable out there anyway.

The show as usual was pretty fun. We were using a new drummer, George, and he was slaying it, so that got us pumped up. We also played 2 new songs for the first time ever. One which Josh wrote that I don't know the exact title but will call "rock star for the weekend", and my latest "with a smile". Josh tried to get me to stay the night, but I had to work the next day. The drive home was crazy in the blizzard. Naturally the next day was beautiful and sunny. I hope the rest of the guys had a great time.
